Jim Davidson to face nemeses
|
Now here’s one of those rare programmes that should appeal to both Jim Davidson fans and to those who can’t stand the man.
The politically incorrect comedian, who prides himself on his no-nonsense/bigoted views is set to appear on one-off Virgin1 show So You Think I'm an A***hole, in which he’ll find out more about the British public’s perception of him and be mentored by the kind of celebrities he wouldn’t normally rub shoulders with.
Though they haven’t yet been confirmed, TV presenter Judy Finnegan, comedian Richard Blackwood and reality star Brian Dowling have apparently all been approached to appear.
Jim famously had a run-in with Brian on reality show Hell’s Kitchen in 2007 when he referred to gay men as “shirtlifters” and called the Big Brother winner a “f***ing disgrace” for “playing the homophobic card”.
“I find you so deeply upsetting,” said a teary Brian at the time. “I don’t play the homophobic card. You say the most insulting things to me.”
Daniela Neumann, Virgin1 director of programmes said viewers should expect an “explosive show”. "To many, Jim's views are deeply offensive, but he doesn't understand why,” she said.
"But now, I do have to take my hat off to him, as he is prepared to go out of his comfort zone to immerse himself with the very people he has been accused of prejudice against, and question whether he needs to change his views."
So You Think I'm an A***hole is due to air later this summer. Sparks will fly…
